Creating the thrilling custom designed cocktail list that plays on the history and stories of The Captain himself is Venue Manager and renowned mixologist David van Iersel. Each cocktail comes with its own, often cheeky, short story based on local history and delivers the perfect balance of flavour and flair. Luke Campbell, of Rockpool, Taxi and his own wine business Vinified, has given the wine list serious wine kudos.

Our kitchen is open 7 days a week, taking inspiration from Asian street food styles which are fresh, flavourful and made from the best ingredients. The menu is designed to be shared and eaten in a social environment with a cocktail in hand. Captain Baxter is a family run business that believes in the tradition of supporting other family producers and suppliers.

Our Lounge Space is outlined with stunning electric blue brick, this plush space is ideal for a relaxed social gathering it can accommodate a cocktail style function for 50-60 guests.

Our Dining area offers a combination of booth seating and floor to ceiling windows that bring the beach inside while you dine. Perfect for a seated dinner or lunch accommodating 65 guests seated and 80 cocktail.

Le Parisien offers a new, sound proofed, private function room offering the latest technology. You will have access to a large Plasma screen, monitor ports for direct input from your laptop, DVD, a separate sound system, and internet connection.

Big enough to cater for up to 40 dinning, 50 in a cocktail setting, or 60 "theatre style", your private room is perfect for breakfast meetings, business meetings, power point presentations, medical presentations, birthdays, anniversaries, or small weddings. Anything is possible in your own room.

The space is also available for hire as a stand alone meeting room.

Meals can be selected from our extensive menu or alternatively a personalised menu can be designed to suit any budget.

Don't forget you can also hire the Le Parisien Restaurant exclusively for up to 160 people or the Wharf Shed Cafe for up to 400.

With 30 flavours of beer on tap, the craftiest of them will soon feature as a boutique batch from the custom microbrewery scheduled to arrive on site early in the new year. An exclusive brew will change every month & is personally prepared by local Victorian makers. Explore the fridge menu for more local & international drops to sip by the river, you won’t be asking for ‘the usual’ here.
