Gumbo Kitchen was founded in November 2011 by Michael Cotter, Patricia Stanton & Elvin Ho. Michael & Patricia spent 7 weeks in New Orleans during March, April & May 2011 learning all about the history, quality and diversity that exists in New Orleans food.
Michael & Patricia wanted to bring the real soul and character of New Orleans to Melbourne through its food, music and culture.
Every year Gumbo Kitchen holds a Fat Tuesday event that celebrates New Orleans culture, on the start of lent. The Fat Tuesday second line event.
