Joining the league of Bridge Road hotspots, Academy Kitchen & Bar is the latest culinary venture of accomplished Chef and owner, Will Manning. And for those who can’t decide, Academy has recently introduced a chef’s selection dinner option, where patrons are guided through four courses for $55 per person. Weekend brunch includes an array of sweet options, including the apple crumble porridge, or tasty savoury dishes, such as the eggs Benedict on polenta with cider braised pork belly, kale, poached eggs and hollandaise. At lunch he's serving things like cider and honey glazed pork roll with apple slaw, cheese and chipotle aioli, or a packed Reuben with corned beef, sauerkraut, pickles, Swiss cheese and thousand island on rye. Evenings step up a notch or two with slow cooked beef cheek, potato puree and pickled onion salad, or a braised lamb shank rigatoni with crispy anchovies. The macaroni and gorgonzola croquettes are a must for a starter. For those with a sweet tooth, Academy desserts include the likes of Tiramisundae, with coffee mascarpone, marsala soaked sponge and chocolate icecream.Happy hour runs from 4pm to 6pm, Tuesday to Friday.
