Vatutto is comprehensively wonderful, an oasis in the gastro-desert of Ivanhoe. Owners Paul and Myrto Recinella opened Vatutto after moving on from their 16 year institution at Zio’s in East Melbourne.
Vatutto offers two separate dining areas, the restaurant and the bistro. The restaurant is a white table clothed area suitable for special occasions, and but still relaxed friendly service.The bistro offers cheaper options but still extensive menu, no white tablecloths, with the same relaxed friendly service. Please note both areas are serviced by the same kitchen and offer the same quality food and service.Alternatively a private function room is available for those special events or meetings.
Paul who is head chef uses the best quality ingredients. Seafood is delivered twice daily and the diners here are fortunate to have an amazing selection ranging from fresh calamari,export grade king prawns, diver harvested scallops, pearl meat from Paspaley in Broome, live spanner crabs, oysters freshly shucked to order, and an excessive choice of all line caught fresh fish ranging from King George Whiting, John Dory, Rockling, Northern Territory wild Barramundi, and Flathead.
